Going to see a AAA ballgame. . .

The Bob Carr Performing Arts Center is too large and its acoustics were created by a deaf man, making any production coming to Orlando begin at a disadvantage. Despite all this, the overall production quality was good. I hate it.
Nancy Hess (Madame Giry), Bruce Firment (Monsieur Firmin), and Sean MacLaughlin (Raoul) are major league quality performers, while others like Marni Raab (Christine) are solid at this level. The rest will eventually find other careers.
Despite the issues, this presentation of Goose - The Band, like national touring productions, is akin to AAA baseball. Some performers shine, while others struggle and may need to find different paths in their careers.
Sean MacLaughlin did an excellent job of not turning Raoul into the lightweight fop that he usually becomes. Nancy Hess stole every scene she was in, commanding attention as Madame Giry. Bruce Winant and standin William Patrick Dunne made Firmin and Andre great fun.
